Default mode when module is double clicked

Is there a way to change the default mode when a module opened via double click?

Thanks

Sure. HIGHLY recommended.

[1] You can use command line parameters: DOORS manual chapter "Configuring Rational DOORS" section "Using shortcuts". Perhaps:

c:\Program Files\IBM\Rational\DOORS\9.2\bin\doors.exe -o READ_ONLY -defopenlinkmode r

[2] You can update the user's registry as the default behavior.

Save the following to a file of type *.reg, then double click on it to set registry for the current user:

REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Telelogic\DOORS\9.2\Config]
"defopenmode" =
"READ_ONLY"
"defopenlinkmode"=
"READ_ONLY"

Change "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" if you have admin rights and want all users of the PC to get the update. Change "9.2" to "9.1" or "8.3" depending on your DOORS version.

[3] You can use DXL to update behavior for the current user from here on out; same as Registry update above:

setenv(
"DOORSDEFOPENMODE",
"READ_ONLY") setenv(
"DOORSDEFOPENLINKMODE",
"READ_ONLY")

I've got a big-brother code that automatically does this update on every client of the database. The only issue is the CPS system that sometimes presumes the CP module is already open Shared, even though its Read if you got there following a CPS link.
